Perou's Assistant - Dawn Marie Jones

An Assistant's Story

BA Alumni Dawn Marie Jones shares her experiences working for Perou, a British fashion, portrait and music photographer in this months Professional Photography magazine.

Dawn describes the time she first met Perou at a graduate photography exhibition at London's Free Range Shows, Truman Brewery.

" - so I just walked up to him along with another student and we invited him to see our work".

"I made it clear I wasn't afraid of hard work and would be really keen to learn from him".

She moved to London soon after graduating with a BA Professional Photography degree from Edinburgh College and now has a successful business working with her partner Stanislav Stoyanov with Perou's encouragement and support.

Finally she ends the interview with some sage advice "If there is a photographer you admire, contact them! You have nothing to lose..."
